The 6C5 is a general purpose triode designed for service as an oscillator, detector, or amplifier. With the exception of capacitance, the electrical characteristics are identical to the 6C5G and 6C5GT. It is similar in characteristics to the 6C6, 6J7, and 57 with triode connection.

Also known by US military identifier VT-65A.

interesting fact regarding the 6c5, although completely interchangeable with 6j5 the 6c5 is actually a tetrode in disguise with the screen grid internally connected to the plate (this can be seen in the GT version). in audio circuits this is not a problem but in high frequency oscillators, the increased inter-electrode capacity can cause issues.
