by Gerald Weber

Gerald Weber, of Kendrick amplification fame, is the author of A Desktop Reference of Hip Vintage Guitar Amps and Tube Amp Talk for the Guitarists and tech. This is his third book, and works well as a companion to his previous books or on its own. 528 pages, softbound

In this, his third book of tube-amp wisdom, Gerald again freely imparts his many years of experience in tweaking amp tone. When it comes to tone, your amp is every bit as important as your guitar, and Gerald gives you the tips and information to get the most from your experience of playing guitar. It's all covered here - troubleshooting, mods, speakers, repairs, parts and everything in between. This book will help you finally achieve the amp ton you've been chasing all these years. - Alan Greenwood, Publisher, Vintage Guitar Magazine

It kind of rambles all over the place, with lots of repetition and no concise progression of information. It's just not well thought out. The old magazine Q&A stuff is very interesting, but the rest of the book is kind of thrown together haphazardly. . You have to look in 20 different places to find information on one subject, and some of those locations have little or nothing to do with that subject. Only one word was mentioned in passing, so it was likely indexed by keyword on a computer. That is just lazy.
