Product Reviews
The capacitor I received showed some leakage on all three sections, especially on the 40uF/450 (actually rated at 465V). It is a brand new capacitor and I can only blame the leakage on the very long time in storage. I started reforming it on my Heath IT-11. After four days of reforming the capacitor shows some improvement, however I am still hesitant to install it in my amp. Time will tell.
Cap is as advertized. Had a problem place the order!! Google kept telling me you were blocked.
Nearly identical to the part I'm replacing. Perfect drop in footprint. Great quality.
I am working on a vintage Heathkit AA-100, the original cap cans 80uf,20uf that are over 50 years old and a good replacement would be the 40-40-30uf by wiring the 40,40uf together to make 80 and the 30 will still work for the 20uf .
Remove the old cap from the insulator holder by cutting the tabs flush and carefully remove the original holder ,mount the original holder underneath the chassis first and slip the new cap can in the holder then bend the tabs. The new cap cans really gives the original look and I can ever put the amps cover back on without touching the cap cans. As some of you may know that there is no room under the cover of the AA-100 for any longer originals.
Without using the cap can, one can use individual caps, but then you would need six ,and there is no room for that on this amp.
Great capacitor. Exact replacement for the original.
