The NJM5532 is a high performance dual low noise operational amplifier. Compared to the standard dual operational amplifiers, such as the NJM1458, it shows better noise performance, improved output drive capability, and considerably higher small-signal and power bandwidths. it is compensated internally for voltage follower circuit. This makes the device especially suitable for application in high quality and professional audio equipment, instrumentation, control circuits, and telephone channel amplifiers

Features:

  • Operating Voltage = ±3V~±22V
  • Small Signal Bandwidth = 10MHz typ.
  • Output Drive Capability = 600Ω,10Vrms typ.
  • Input Noise Voltage = 5nV/√Hz typ.
  • Power Bandwidth = 140kHz typ.
  • Slew Rate = 8V/µs typ.
  • Bipolar Technology

JRC (Japanese Radio Corporation) NJM (Nissinbo) Good stuff. - July 13th, 2022
5 out of 5

The famous JRC4558 is also notoriously famous for being the cheapest 4558 available but aside from the price it's a very very good Japanese workhorse of an op amp chip and the NJM5532 is a Nissinbo, aslo a Japanese designed lower noise 4558/1458/5558 chip. How much quieter? It's noticeable but it's not super quieter. Some of these are very very quiet compared to a 4558 and others are quieter but NOT as much quieter. Build yourself a simple treble booster and use that as a test bed to sort them out picking the quietest 5532 chips from the lot. Keep your needs in mind. More treble = more hiss, so use the quiestest 5532s there.. I use chips these a lot and if they were not worth using I would not use them. I replace 4558s in hybrid amps with these to cut the noise floor. You have heard the good and the bad, now go buy some and go build something. Have fun, be safe and rock on. Do the treble booster and you will immediately see variation between chips. This is 100% normal for ALL op amp chips. They are all just a little different. Some are noisier, some ganier, some have more bass, some more treble, different slew rates, etc. If you want perfect you need to make discrete part component op amps with 100% hand tested components and that gets very expensive & time consuming.

I used it a studio mixer from 1990 - works great. It was in the mail within just a few days.
