Splendid! There isn't a better sounding new production KT88 available for guitar amps. I abused a pair of KT88 EH tubes in a home built DR100 clone for a year and I have no complaints. I no longer have the amp, and its shame because I really miss the sound of the KT88 's..the king of power tubes.
I have had these tubes in my amp for 3 yrs. They are still going strong and they sound great! Electro Harmonix tubes sound the best of all tubes Ive tried so far.
I had EL84's in my VTA ST-70 Dynaco tube HI-FI amplifier and wanted to try a different set of tubes. The ST-70 allows several types of tubes to be used. The KT88 Electro-Harmonix sound great and look great too. I'm very happy with my purchase.
The vacuum tube of self-made single guitar amp I was changed from 6V6GT in KT88.
Try replacing the vacuum tube that was purchased and enjoys the change of sound. KT88 I think that was the best.
