Product Reviews
The industry standard of excellence in American amp input jacks. The tip shorts to (usually ground) to eliminate noise on an unused open jack. Torque the small flat nuts up to approximately 30-35 inch pounds with a 1/4 inch torque wrench to be certain that the jack is tightened properly without stripping the threads out, deforming the nut or damaging the jack's bushing. New Fender amps usually have loose jacks. A small $60 10-150 inch pound torque wrench is a great tool to take your work to the next level. We also use a Sturtevant torque screwdriver, but those are $300. We don't break off screws, or strip threads though, and everything is properly tightened. Switchcraft jacks can take 35 inch pounds of torque, no problem. Cheaper jacks with zinc alloy bushings cannot take as much torque. Switchcraft is one of the best phone jacks ever made!!! Telephone company switchboards used Switchcraft jacks almost exclusively and these Switchcraft 1/4 inch phone jacks were plugged in and unplugged hundreds of times per day by switchboard operators for many years, before needing to be replaced. These are the same basic design used before the dial system replaced human operators.
There are certain instances when you don't have enough depth for a regular 1/4" jack, and that's where the longer bushing (3/8") is the perfect solution. And you can never go wrong with Switchcraft parts. They're always dependable.
Excellent high quality jacks that I use on all my amp builds. Highly recommended.
switchcraft quality and the long thread shaft I needed for my radio build. great!
These switches fit perfectly in my 1965 fender bassman. The only difference is the originals had only two solder points. These have six. You just wire on one side of the switch, leave the other side blank.
Great 1/4" jack. The best out there IMHO.
These are very high quality and will last years
You can alway count on Switchcraft, there are cheap units out there , and are not worth buying, these are worth their “salt”
Quality jack. Would like to show a picture of installation in my amp chassis.
best jack in the industry, still!!!
