These are the usual +/-5%R carbon film resistor made from a spiral cut in carbon film on a ceramic form dipped in epoxy. They are usually always in spec, quieter than carbon comps, not as quiet at metal film, and an industry standard. I don't pay more than about 5-8 cents each for these, but I also buy them at least 100 at a time. They are great for repairs, new builds, and to some extent restorations.
