These TAD 5AR4 rectifier tubes are the best! I built my own high end reference tube amplifier 5 years ago, I used cheaper 5AR4 rectifiers and they lasted about 6 months. I switched to the TAD Premium Selected rectifiers and they have been working flawless for the past 4 years. I want to add that in 4 years time I have played this amplifier the equivalent of 12-15 years. There are many days it is playing 15+ hours a day for the past 4 years. TAD makes the best, most consistent, reliable 5AR4 rectifier tubes that I have ever used! I have twin power supplies and even after all the use on these tubes, the B+ comes up at the same time on both power supplies. Timed cathodes allow the 6L6's to generate a good electron cloud before the B+ is applied to the plates so that cathode stripping doesn't occur in the 6L6's. I highly recommend the use of Tube Amp Doctor Premium Selected 5AR4 Rectifier tubes. The sag/voltage drop is very low and with proper filtering of the rectified B+ I have 0.001 volt of AC going into my reference amplifier. No hum, no buzz. I could write a book about how much I love these tubes, but if your looking for the most reliable, consistent, durable rectifier tube, you need to try the TAD 5AR4 Premium Selected tube.
