Very nice sounding tube, sorta' luscious, sweet, and full range. My NOS favorite 5U4GB used to be a Tung Sol, but this out-performs NOS tubes in my two stage direct coupled amps. I LOVE what a DIRECTLY heated rectifier tube does. I have been told the Electro Harmonix 5U4GB ( handled by Antique Electronic, and reasonably priced !! ) has a little more " snap " to it, dynamically, but I was also told it takes 200 Hours of playing to break-in to full bloom. This JJ takes maybe only 15 hours to break in - in my DC SET amp circuits. Amazing, two modern tubes that each beat the old timers.
