Eleven years ago I built a stereo tube amp from scratch. I replaced the power cords twice due to fraying in the strain relief. I purchased an IEC power receptacle to avoid this happening in the future. Its nice to be able to remove the cord from the rear of the chassis rather than unplug it from a power strip in the back of the cabinet. Computer power cords work just dandy for this application.
