Received a "matched set" to replace a pair of Groove Tube 6L6s in a 64 Fender Deluxe. When I went to bias the tubes their was a variance of 20%. I measured the grid resistors which were spot on and then put the 6L6s back in - they showed a variance of 2.5%. Returned the tubes - which was a huge hassle and got a replacement set a week later. These are still 10% off but I'm not going to bother swapping them out again. With all the time spent checking everything to make sure it wasn't the amp causing the problem, going to the post office to ship back the mismatched tubes, and phone calls to AES, I am out about $200 in shop fees and have a disgruntled customer to boot. The tubes sound fine, but, needless to say, I can't recommend them to anyone, at least purchased through this vendor.
