Overall this seems like a great tube. Not as dark sounding as the JJ ECC83 but still very smooth sounding. Works great in V1 position on my pignose G40V. Only 4 stars because it produces a loud thump when used in V4 on a princeton reverb with the tremolo engaged. I tried 2 different ECC803's with the same result and did not have this issue with the standard JJ ECC83 or Sovtek 12ax7WA. Because of this I have to conclude that the noise has to do with the tube design and not the amp.
