I have admit that I bought these because they were cheap and I was curious to see if they were any good. I ordered two bridge and two neck pickups, one set for me and one set for a friend. We put them into our MIM Telecasters to see if they would be any better than the crappy stock pickups. With the stock pickups, these guitars played nice and sounded good unplugged, but sounded lousy when plugged into an amp.
After I installed the pickups in the guitars and set them up, we fired up the amps to see if there was any improvement. Both guitars sounded WAY better than before. They finally sounded like what a GOOD Telecaster should sound like. Nice ballsy sound and twang up the wazoo! I am amazed it just how much better the guitars sounded, and so is my friend. These are really good pickups and the low price I paid is icing on the cake. These pickups are in my guitar to stay, they are giving me the exact sound I was hoping for. The workmanship is very good too. If Fender installed these pickups in their Mexican Telecasters, it would be a major upgrade. Gotoh really nailed with these pickups, my guitar and my friend's guitar now sound like what a good Telecaster is supposed to sound like. What more can I ask for?
