These are great power tubes, it's hard to say just what made this amp this time. I did put the jj 12ax7 long plates and it softens some of that tsl 122 fizz they are noted for. It growls like a marshall should and the clean channel is crisp and loaded with clear mids and bottom presence. I am glad i ordered from Antique Electronic Supply, the EL34B TAD's were excellent and easy to bias and really round out the sound of the Marshall JCM TSL 122 iike no other tube i've had. Worth the little extra dough
