Recently bought a used PRRI and it needed a new rectifier tube (the guide pin was broken). It originally came with the 5AR4 Ruby. I put a JJ 5AR4 in it and didn't like it at all - it was harsh sounding and stiff. Decided to order the Ruby and it was perfect in both sound and feel. The sag that I cherish was back! Lesson learned. I like JJ for power tubes but the Ruby is perfect for the rectifier. Antique Electronic Supply was great. Fast shipping, great price and no hassles.
