Report Review for product Knob - Scalloped Edge, Indicator Line, Set Screw

Just what I needed! The set screw sits low and the barrel is not recessed and tucked up underneath a skirt so this knob can sit high on the pot's shaft. This allowed me to put some surgical tubing on the shaft that rotates an old 4 inch diameter radio tuning knob with the small knob. By turning the large knob along the edge with a small knob I could get a super fine adjustment on a 2000 Ohm 50 Amp rheostat that substitutes for a cathode bias resistor in a cathode bias amplifier. I could bias the amp then find out exactly what bias resistance I needed. The red knob is mounted to a 10 turn 100K precision pot, which substituted for a fixed bias pot so I could find out which bias resistor was needed for a fixed bias amp by biasing the amp with this substitution box. I biased the amps using mV meters across 1 Ohm resistors. Then I see what the resistance is by measuring the settings on whichever I used, the 10 turn potentiometer or the rheostat. The large knob was an antique tuning knob made by Hoosick Radio, of Hoosick Falls, New York, back when the USA was a self sustaining country that made almost everything it needed domestically, as in right here at home, as in, "Made in The USA". Hoosick Radio is long gone, but it's nice to find a red thermoplastic knob that works to turn a large Bakelite knob on my dual variable bias resistor substitution rig. These knobs would also be nice for pedals amps and many other projects. There is not any brass insert but it will work for my needs.
