I have mixed feelings about these. I put a matched pair in a Fender 65 Princeton Reverb Reissue and they bring a noticeable improvement to the tone. I had a pair of matched Groove Tubes in there (which I think were OEM/stock? They're EHX 6V6 rebranded...) and the TS are smoother, rounder, thumpier bottom end, less harsh treble bite, more color and fun and snap in the midrange. Just a much more pleasant experience overall.
The Apex Matching... I'm not convinced my tubes are matched all that well. I have bias points of ~18.5mV and ~21mV. I would not call that matched. That's over a 10% difference. So either something is off with my amp, or the tubes just aren't matched that well. I guess I'm disappointed that I paid extra for no benefit.
