Report Review for product Desoldering Pump - Weller, manual, for removing solder

You are reporting the following product review:

I hate that piece of the cylinder that rides up along the side of the plunger. For a small solder sucker I like the black ESD safe Soldapult, and for a large one, the old big silver ESD safe Soldapults. I can use my leg to reset the plungers. The threads eventually strip out on these too. Sometimes I have a two pens going at the same time on a dual pen base so when one gets cold from use, I swap over and alternate between two identical Weller soldering pencils. I am soldering very quickly and for several hours at a time, so these soldering tools take a real beating. You can do a whole lot worse than this Solder Sucker, but for the price you can also do a lot better. The big early ESD safe silver Soldapults are great for eyelet boards, tag boards, & terminal boards. The solder suckers are a bit too much for 99% of PCB work. Use solder wick on PCB boards unless you know the board is industrial quality with heavy traces, or else you will suck the pads right off of the boards. I use a Hakko electric desoldering pump. but that is a $500 investment, and it's easier just to grab the Soldapult. solder sucker & go. It is one less hot item to burn my bench up too.
