Report Review for product Amp Cover - For Fender Vintage Silverface Champ

You are reporting the following product review:

This cover was purchased as the finishing touch for a silverface Champ restoration project. While not a fancy, hi-end cover as found on some of the swankiest boutique amps, it's definitely equal to many OEM covers and even clearly superior to some. The construction is clean and defect-free, with good quality stitching and straight seams and piping. As noted in the item description, it's made from Tolex-type material that matches vintage Fender amps fairly well, giving it a decidedly OEM appearance. Because it is shipped folded, it'll have a lot of heavy wrinkles (just as depicted in the photos) when removed from the package, but these can be easily smoothed out in a few minutes with a hair dryer if you so desire.

The cover fits a silverface Champ quite loosely, which many (myself included) would see as a positive because it quickly, effortlessly drops over the amp, without having to wiggle it down into place. However, as a downside it could possibly ride up if the amp was being transported in say, a car trunk, pickup bed or equipment trailer, especially if laid on its back for the ride.

If I'm not mistaken, a blackface Champ cabinet should be the same dimensions as a silverface, hence this cover should fit it as well. However, I cannot verify that, plus the fact that AES describes this item as specifically fitting a silverface. So, do take note of this if looking for a cover for your blackface, and make sure it'll fit before ordering.

This cover represents good value for the money, will last you a lifetime in normal use, and is relatively inexpensive insurance against transport damage of your valuable vintage Champ, besides simply keeping it dust-free when in storage. Whether you have the original Tolex in like-new condition or a laborious, expensive recover job, this is just the ticket to protect your investment and keep it looking great.
