This is a great footswitch and you sure can't beat the price. Hard to make one yourself for that.

BUT be aware, if you are planning on using this for a custom build, this is NOT a standard 5-pin "MIDI" DIN cable! My solution... drilled a hole in the footswtich box for a MIDI jack and wired it up. Now I can use any standard MIDI cable (that has all five pins wired - not all of them do) and the cord is easily replaceable in the off-chance it goes bad right before a show.

I ordered this unit to make a replacement footswitch for an old Acoustic 125 amplifier. I found it's construction to be very rugged. I did a few minor modifications like replacing the DIN connector with a jones-molex type as used on the Acoustic 125 and found that 2 of the LED's would lite when actuated, the third would not because of the whacky circuitry in the amplifier. No big deal, I simply clipped all 3 led wires so none would lite. The amp head has it's own indicator lights anyway. All in all an excellent footswitch for the money and my customer was very pleased with the results.
