These sockets required some light metal work to fit in the hole of a Silver face Fender. Evidently the molding is not very good or consistent , I had trouble with tight/inaccurate fit of the tubes in the sockets. This resulted in broken guide pegs on two power tubes. This has also been mentioned by other reviewers as a problem. I am also not happy about the fact that these cost almost $2 more than the well-made Belton sockets (who unfortunately don't make a socket with these dimensions). Not a very good deal for what you get.

Please be aware, when purchasing make certain the center guide hole diameter is appropriate for your tube type. I purchased these sockets and found out the center guide hole is 8.2 mm not the 8.59 needed for 6L6 tubes.
I have to replace them after I installed them and epoxied the broken guide on brand new tubes. My bad.

Perfect fit for Fender Twin Reverb II (1985). Fit perfect the 6L6 tube configuration.

Installed two into a Fender Blackface Bassman clone. One had a short - Tested every connector and pin against every other metal part - no continuity. But with full power on, there was a short. Replaced with another which worked OK.

Worked fine for a rebuild of my 1968 Super Reverb. and they solved some bizarre issues that I was having with the amp. One of the sockets was a tad too wide, so I had to slightly ream out the existing socket hole on the chassis. Otherwise I would have given them 5 stars. Also, one of the sockets arrived in broken condition, but the fine folks at AES sent me a replacement quickly & without hassle. AES definitely get 5 stars for that. They are an excellent company to deal with!

Received new Octal tube socket promptly. Worked perfect in my 1938 radio as a replacement for old one with damaged pin connections. Perfect fit when mounted from top side of chassis at a good price.

These are my 'go-to's for power tube sockets. Made tough, made well. Stand up to minor twists on the lugs and easily takes solder making my retirement occupation a pleasure.

These are not very good. First time I pulled out my GZ34 rectifier tube, two unused pins came out with it. Makes me very concerned about how much stress will be imparted to the solder connections on other pins.

The Phenolic 8-pin sockets I purchased installed easily and made my necessary repairs happen.on my 1959 Gibson Explorer tube amp. I got nothing but appreciation for Antique Electronic Supply for consistently and quickly filling my orders, and helping when asked, and no surprise, when I have another tube amp project, they will be the ones I depend on. Thanks and have a good one guys!

Best socket I have used for power tubes. I butchered a pair of these several times on a prototyping build and they keep taking abuse even after folding and twisting the pins several times. Pins have been straightened back and are working fine.
