What il like about sockets of this nature (including also similar magnoval sockets) is 4-40 nuts seat perfectly between the screw pins making for easy assembly.

These sockets work great. There are 2 minor downsides: First, they are slightly larger that 1 in diameter, so some careful filing is required after using a 1 in chassis punch. Second, the virgin pins are so tight that tubes can't be inserted without the possibility of damaging the tube (which I did). Now I first use a burned out tube to loosen up the socket a bit. I like the sockets and I will use them for my next project. Thanks to AES for being there.

I've found these Octal 8-pin Ceramic tube sockets to be a high quality socket. I use these Octal sockets as high quality replacements in vintage tube equipment that I restore and it is the only Octal socket I use in my tube amplifiers that I build. I've found that cheaper phenolic sockets will develope socket to tube pin connection problems within a few years of use. That's not the case with the ceramic octal sockets, I have these sockets in a tube amp I built in 2007, it's used nearly everyday and I have yet to have a connection problem.
These are high quality tube sockets and I recommend them for anyone building or restoring tube equipment that requires the 8-pin octal sockets.
