Product Reviews
Ordered 14 resistors and half were >10% tolerance, most being even higher on the + side. Noted the specs state tolerance can be up to 20%, but I didn't expect such a high variance rate straight from the factory brand new. I just thought I'd bring this to attention to other potential customers so that you can manage your expectations. For me, not a great value based on the price and quality (and now that I know the manufacturer, country of origin, and overseas pricing), but depending on your application, perhaps it doesn't matter as much. Bought these for some vintage amp restorations for clients, but I'd be doing them a major disservice by installing these resistors knowing clients will be bringing the units back in sooner rather later to have the resistors swapped out again. Customer service just reiterated the 20% tolerance in the spec. Hence, taking a loss on these. Lessons learned and sticking with NOS Allen Bradleys, which are much more consistent, better quality, and can be found for cheaper.
I actually am 71 and have been building amps and audio gear since 14 years old or so.
I used the 1 watt resistors in a modded 18 watt Marshall amp that is a test bed for
a vintage style amp, running 6sl7 tubes as the plate resistors in the preamp stages.
The 1-watt resistors have more compression than 1/4 watt, and carbon has more comprsssion
than carbon film or metal film. They have a bigger, warmer tone, no harsh highs.
Our amp sounds very killer and will hopefully be on sale soon!
Everything I have bought from you folks over the years ,have been high quality. I have yet to use these items as i am waiting to receive a couple of transformers for my 5C1 build which will be here Friday :)

Just what I needed to restore a vintage Twin Reverb SF135 back to specs AND keep the vintage vibe!
I ordered a 100K resistor and got an 82K, which is not usable. I suppose that it's technically within the 20% tolerance, but for $1.50 for 1 resistor, I expect it to at least start at a value close to what I ordered! At this price and low volume I would have expected these to be screened so that they were at least in the ballpark of what you order.
I read some reviews stating that these resistors were not within tolerence nut mine arrived within the tolerence specs. As always, AES delivered my parts promptly and everything was just as described.
All were just what I needed.
...forgot to reduce the star rating on my first comment. 1 star quality resistors.
I purchased 470r's for screen resistors to be used in Fender amps. These look and measure poorly...absolute garbage!! These are not the same as the .5w CC they sell...which I like. Please AES provide worthy high wattage CC's!
