Potentiometer - PMT, CTS, Audio, Variable Treble Bleed, 3/8"
Precision Music Technologies V-Treb with CTS pot – Variable Treble Bleed Bypass Circuit. Made in USA.
The V-Treb Variable Treble Bleed Circuit for guitar and bass is available pre-installed on high quality volume pots from CTS and Bourns. The circuit corrects the problem of high frequency losses at reduced volumes by allowing the player to control how bright or warm the tone will get as the volume control is reduced. Turning the trim pot clockwise increases the amount of treble bypass for a brighter sound at reduced volumes. Turning the trim pot counter clockwise reduces the amount of treble bypass for a warmer tone at reduced volumes. With the volume at 10, the V-Treb is removed from the circuit and does not affect the sound. The V-Treb circuit also also available separately for use on any other volume pot.
Features
- Get precise adjustment of tone as volume is reduced.
- Improves audio taper roll off between 6 and 10.
- Will not affect tone at full volume.

Product Reviews
My ‘62 Strat volume control was showing its age with weaker contact over its range. I was reluctant to change an original part, but I was curious about how the CTS treble bleed control would work. After replacing (and stashing) the original volume control I’ve been rewarded with nuances in tone at lower volumes. Happily my vintage Strat love affair continues and now there’s a whole new tonal spectrum available to boot.
