SoZo's Yellow Mustard line of polyester film tube amp capacitors have been thoroughly tested by LA’s best tube amp builders. They are handmade to exact vintage specs, and beat everything available, even in high gain situations.

After years of painstaking research and development, in 2003 SoZo Amplification began manufacturing the SoZo Mustard Cap™ capacitors, which quickly caught on among discriminating musicians and amp designers. Now, hundreds of thousands of capacitors later, SoZo has engineered capacitor product lines optimized for different products, including amps by Marshall™, Fender®, Vox®, HiWatt, and others, as well as professional sound gear from Neve, API, Neumann, Universal Audio, Urei, and virtually any quality gear from the 1950s on.

These caps are successful recreations of the originals and are superbly built and excellent-sounding caps. When one considers the audio signal passes through as many as ten capacitors before exiting the amplifier, you can see how these components play an extremely large role in the tone of the amplifier.

Good caps for a high gain build. Crisper than mojotone dijon without being as harsh as orange drops. That said, the dijon compares favorably for far less $. I would say dijon is slightly smoother, but less transparent. The sozo being a bit crisper and more transparent. Really depends on the particular circuit you're working with. Definitely a quality cap.

These are great for restoration. The outside foil is marked so it's easy to install correctly for best function.

I just re capped this 1960 Ampeg Jet signal path with these SoZo`s . It sounded good before and I even toured with it a little but now it sounds absolutely AMAZING ! Worth every penny . No mud , increased bass and treble separation , sweet highs , tight lows ! Incredible !

These are great caps..One guy complained he didn't like them, and then installed some polyprolene caps he like better...well, that could be. These are POLYESTHER dialectric types..the old Mullard "mustard" caps were also polyesther dialectric..they DO have a different sound, no matter what your science teacher may have told you..I describe the sound of a polyesther cap as a bit
"grainy" with peaked treble tones. Polyprolene are IMO more neutral..Fender has used polyprolene dialectric types since about 1958 (before that they used wax paper and foil caps) ..The Mallory 150 polyesther caps are my favorite for Marshall amps..these made in the USA Sozo caps aound like them but are slightly more expensive, because they are made in thre USA

Save your money. These sound bad. Go with Panasonic or nichicon polypropylene caps. That's what my ears told me.

I've installed these caps in Marshalls and most recently in a Friedman Smallbox. The tone is amazing. Takes approx 10-20 hours to break them in.
