Do you build or repair bass guitars or heavy metal guitars, or any guitars with EMG pickups, similar low Z pickups and any instrument that requires an onboard battery powered preamp? This is the jack you seek to shut off the battery drain when you unplug the guitar. Old Ovation Breadwinners, Deacons, Preachers, Vipers had 18 volt preamps, and what about the old Strato-Blaster single FET preamps? How about EMG preamps, or Neil Moser's 1980s BC Rich preamps? That is the best on off switch I can find! If you want stereo, sorry. XLR? Remember to shut the power off! This cut the power when the patch cord is unplugged. These were used on everything from $189 Hondo guitars to $10,000+ custom BC Rich guitars. Even some of the Alembic instruments used these.
