Product Reviews
Works great! Replaced my old one in my Egnator cabinet that stopped working.
I loved how easy this product was to install and to use. One caveat was that the right 8 ohm tap engaged the 8 ohm stereo feature. In comparison, on a Marshall 1960, you can run either side in 8 ohms, but with this jack plate, you can only run the right side on its own, and cannot run the left side on its own.
Three star rating for the 16 ohm tap failing after 2.5 years of use. I used this in a 2x12 Avatar cab about once a week on average during this time. So that's like 130 times plugging in to it. It went to about 5 gigs during that time. I swapped speakers once during this time.
Despite all that, if you only play at home, or where you have spare cabs, it's a great product. This is especially if you have some 4 ohm and 16 ohm heads or if you run two 8 ohm loads in stereo. I don't trust this for gigs any more.
It works, but for how long?
I bought one of these for my speaker cabinet, so I could use different heads with one cabinet. A few months later the 16 ohm option failed. The jacks are proprietary and soldered to a PC board. Rather than tp replace the jack I bought a new unit for $20 plus shipping. I'm hoping for better luck with this one, but who knows? At least I have some parts to scavenge in case this one fails.
There's no guesswork with this jackplate - it adds a lot of versatility to your cab and is pretty difficult to mess up. The leads aren't terribly long so be careful how you orient your speaker leads. As always, AES is a pleasure to work with.
Easy and fast to hook up. Works like a charm and way sturdier than the crap that M**shall uses
Great Product. I use it on a Fender Bandmaster Cabinet set up with 1x12 8 ohm and 1x15 8 ohm.
This jack plate works great! My 2x12 cabinet now has a lot more flexibility.
These things are the $#!+! I love the Plug and Play jack. Takea all thw guess work outta hooking up my head to my 212 cabs. I bought two and installed them on both of my 212 cabs. No switches to fiddle with and try and figure out what’s for stereo, and what’s 4 or 16 ohm. It’s as easy as plugging into the correctly rated jack. Done! Highly recommended to anyone who makes speaker changes or just wants ease of use. 4 different colored wires for hooking to your speakers, so no mistakes can be made if you can follow the simple color coded scheme.
Easy to wire! Instructions are clear. Works great!?
Great product, does what it says it does, works fine, priced right - what more could you ask?
