Excellent product for building turretboards. If storing turrets for a longer period between building more boards, a desiccant bag helps to keep the turrets nice and shiny.

Problem: These turrets do not provide a snug fit for the turret board model # P-HTUR-B or P-HTUR-C as stated in the description above..
The holes in the boards are approximately 2.6 ~ 2.7 mm wide, whilst the turrets are 2 mm wide. The turrets cannot be held into
their respective holes on the turret board by themselves when the board is flipped over to stake the turrets.
They need to be held in place by hand and this process only allows the staking of one turret at a time. This is disappointing and a waste of time.
Once staked, they do stay in place but the staking process is tedious and lengthy as a result.

Solution: Provide turret boards with smaller holes or turrets with wider shafts, and/or clarify your description for ALL turret products. At the end of the day, the turrets should be a snug fit in the holes to speed up the staking process and allow you to complete your layout in one session, then stake in another session (as is the case with other manufacturers).

Bought these for the 3mm thick perf board. A few issues I have with these. At first I thought these may be gold plated, but after inspection they appear to be just brass. Second, I could not get them staked tightly without the turret bending and distorting. When I used a soft wood to back up the turrets, the staking tool would not fully flare the turret properly. I had to use a very light weight hammer, but these take forever. I used the recommended staking tool. I ended up using epoxy instead (or superglue which is faster).

Good price good product. I could maybe do better buying these by the 1000, or 5000. $15 for 100 is not bad, though. If you have trouble soldering these, buy better equipment. I run two irons, and solder up my terminals all at once. When one iron starts to lag, I switch off to a fresh hot iron. Some components I might heatsink, but not usually anything inside a guitar amp, save maybe the optocouplers. We love having Antique Electronics in the valley! Great people. Great neighbors! The will call hours put me coming home in rush hour traffic, but I love dropping by at least every few months! I have been slinging solder since age 6, and these turrets solder up nicely. They stake down with a little tool I made, & use in a drill press. It's good stuff, man!

Use # 37 drill bit for a nice tight fit in the board. They take a lot of heat to solder so I use heat sink clips to protect diodes and caps. The large size is helpful when two resistors and a cap meet at a wire connection. Will be using more of these in 3 mm canvas phenolic board

I found that when these are used with the proper staking tool the turret fastens very nicely to the board. Very solder-able as well! I will definitely use these in the future.
