The JJ Electronic E88CC / 6922 is a great replacement for any 6922, 6DJ8, or E88CC tube. JJ implements a solid construction that those familiar with their preamp tubes will find familiar. This tube’s high end clarity and warm smooth mids make the JJ E88CC and excellent choice for Hi-Fi preamps and amplifiers.

After some good luck with JJ's previously, I replaced my Sovtek's in my Avalon 737 with these JJ's. Let them burn in a day, then did some simple vocal comparisons between the JJ's and the Sovtek (which had many many hours on them). I like how the JJ's respond, very clean top end without feeling hyped, overall a very balanced tube. There may be other or perhaps better tubes, but I've often found that with a channel strip like the 737, I'm looking for overall tonal balance. I'm keeping them in there.

I’m using this tube in a Schiit Vali +2 that is both a headphone amp, and a preamp. I use a digital front end (mac Mini), but everything downstream-dac, preamp, amp is tube. This tube is not as clean sounding as the other tubes—EH 6CG7 and Svetlana 6N1-P, that I’m rolling, purchased here. At least, by comparison in my rig. It seemed like it was easy to overdrive this baby with sibilance being the result. Of course, this is in my setup/application and your results could easily vary.
