Vacuum Tube - ECC83-WA, Tube Amp Doctor, Premium Selected

Question:
Hey! Thanks in advance. I asked this question for another tube, but this looks like a good choice...so My Digitech RPM-1 manual says to only replace its lone tube with a 12AX7A. It is a stereo device, if that makes any difference. Anyway, what is the difference between a a 12AX7, a 12AX7A and a 12AX7WA?! I would like a warm, immediate fuzzy tone to my rotary emulation, but shopping is hard being limited to just 12AX7A's... Know the difference? Any recommendations knowing i prefer warm and fuzzy vs the current sharp and thin tone I am getting? Again, thank you in advance....

Answer:
The suffixes at the end of different 12AX7 varieties only indicate subtle changes in specs or design. Using any 12AX7 or 12AX7 variant will be safe for your application, however, the sound for each may not be ideal. You can use our 12AX7 tube comparison chart to help you determine which 12AX7 is the best fit for your application. https://www.tubesandmore.com/tech-corner/12ax7-comparison-current-made-tubes
