New-Old-Stock (NOS) tube.
The 6SB7Y is a pentagrid metal tube designed for use as a combined mixer and oscillator in superheterodyne circuits. Both functions are accomplished in the same electron stream. Because of its high oscillator transconductance and high conversion transconductance, the tube is especially useful in FM receiver service below 120 megacycles.

As a retired engineer (geek) I have a "problem", I love restoring older 1950's era HAM radios.
It's an homage to the design engineers of the past.
Finding obscure valves, ( I'm a Brit), for 1950's HAM RX beauties is often a problem... However, as can be seen in the photo below, all four 1950s era radios have been lovingly restored to "factory" (or better). The latest is the National NC125, for which I needed a 6B7-Y L/O mixer / Converter... easy fix! Kudos to AES for the supply of NOS parts, often older than I am, yet work flawlessly.
