Vacuum Tube - 12AT7 / B739, Genalex Gold Lion, Gold Pin
Genalex Gold Lion ECC81/B739 (12AT7) dual triode preamp tube with gold pins. Made in Russia. Original Genalex Gold Lion ECC81/B739 tubes are considered the best 12AT7 types ever made. They are also among the rarest types available. They exhibit a large detailed soundstage that is characterized by an expressive midrange, deep tight bass, and a smooth extended high end. The reissue Genalex Gold Lion ECC81/B739 recreates the sound signature of the original. This tube features balanced sections and gold plated pins.

Product Reviews
SO far-I have yet to be disappointed by the Gold Lion small signal tubes. Thye have a robust, addictive sound to them that simply can't be beat IMHO. I have been burned too many times with NOS going south-weak/noisy. They are old tubes to begin with. Frankly they were not designed to be at peak audio reproduction performance 60/70+ year later. Thats why IMHO having Gold Lion step up with these new production small signal tubes is such a big deal!!
These are awesome tubes. Clean/clear with warmth and dynamics. I use them in place of the stock JJ's in a Van ALstine CF RB preamp. I love JJ's but these are a step up for me. I know tube brands can be subjective-but I have rarely read bad things about these GL models-the small signal GL's. They do have a lot of NOS qualities, and it's easy to hear they choose to emphasize the ones that make people gravitate toward tube hifi. I love the Psvane Classic I retubed my Prologue 4 and 5 with-but I may end up with GL's in there too!! AES makes it easy-and awesome prices!!
I rarely write reviews, but thought I would post. I have a fender clone ab763 (custom Vintage Sound Amp for jazz), and I run AT7s in V1 to V4 because I play clean jazz. I swapped a JJ AT7 for the Genalex Gold AT 7 in V1 only. Worth every penny and a significant upgrade from the JJ. Cleaner, more precise and more musical with a tighter low end. I recorded and listened back and others agree. I run Tung Sol 6L6 gc str for power. These were similar to the TAD redbase in sound, but way more stable.
