The JJ Electronic 12AT7 / ECC81 is a good choice for phase inverters, reverb drivers, and general preamp use. This tube offers low noise, low microphonics, and warm smooth tones at a great price. Like all JJ tubes, it has a rugged construction that doesn’t compromise the sound of your amp. The JJ 12AT7 is a solid replacement for any 12AT7, ECC81, or 6201 tube. It can also be used to replace 12AX7 tubes in position 1 to reduce gain.

This replaced a no-name Chinese 12AT7 that was in position V2 (reverb driver) in an Allen Chihuahua guitar amp. I'm still processing how this change is working out, but, if anything, the JJ 12AT7 is a lot cleaner than the old tube. The old tube generated some audible "fuzz" when the volume was set above 2. That's gone away.

First time I have tried JJ 12AT7 for driver... I recently purchased a used Fender 100 watt Super Sonic Twin, Reverb did not work. When I turned up the verb level all I got was tons of white noise...popped in this driver and the reverb is crystal clear and quiet!
Excellent product, Iam using JJ`s in all positions in this amp. Also: Antique Electric Supply has excellent customer service, the FREE shipping was fast, and they have the best prices you will ever find anywhere on tubes! Thank you very much! Cheers!

Only a few months after replacing the tubes in my 1972 Vibro Champ, I switched on the other day to no sound. I was preparing to pull the chassis when I noticed that the new JJ preamp tube had literally shattered. Amp had not been moved since the tube was put in. Swapped out and amp was back to normal. I’m normally a big fan of JJ, but quality is clearly an issue with some.

Five stars plus. Changed out the worn tubes in my Princeton Reverb with new JJ's 12AT7 and 12AX7...Wow the tone is back.
I was very pleased with the service that I received from AE and recommend them to anyone considering tube replacement,
Thanks Guys

J&J is my first choice in vacuum tubes for guitar and audio amps. Antique Electronics offers excellent range of products and has great customer service

Keep one on hand for inventory. Some repairs lately have needed to dial down the gain a bit from a full-on 12a--X--7.

I have been a satisfied customer for years. However, this time, I ordered two tubes in case one happened to be bad. Both tested bad when I got them. Four stars for previous orders.
