Is this what I would use to wire up an extension cabinet jack which turns off the internal speaker when the extension plus is inserted?

We are not sure if this can be used in that application and is simply a mono jack.

What is there about this that makes it "for Marshall"? I bought some to replace jacks in old effects pedals because of their low external profile, and the only difference I see is that they're insulated from the case. That won't cause me problems, will it? (I haven't swapped them out yet, still working on the pinouts.) Thanks!

These jacks are just commonly used on Marshall amps and work the same as similar jacks. Generally they are fine to use in pedals as long as the signal and ground connection are in place. Some older equipment uses the chassis as the ground connection so for something like that you would need to connect a wire from a known ground point in the circuit to the jack's sleeve connection. If a wire to the sleeve connection of the jack already exists then this won't be an issue.

Nice jack! I used it to replace an output jack on a Soldano GTO Supercharger. I keep these in mono and stereo in my supply of parts and have used them in GT Brick tube preamp and Marshall JCM 900 (a friend's amp). Factory fit and works great! The main problem is user error over tighing the metal nut. I use a socket without the wrench and get it good and snug. No breakage and never comes loose. Great jack when used properly.
My favorite jacks. These are all I use. Beware the impostors available elsewhere... these are the genuine Cliff-UK jacks!!!
These jacks retrofitted easily into the vintage Marshall JMP head I was repairing. The solder lugs are nice and big for easy wiring and the jacks look much better than the old brittle plastic nut ones. Delivery was quick and problem-free.
Worked great. Much better quality jack than what I removed from the OEM made in China PA towers.
I'm sure they will hold up quite well. Using them as speaker cab inputs on a DIY project.
Love 'em. Can't beat them. Why go Switchcraft when you can spend a bit more and get something that is solid? I will never use another style.
I like the cliff jacks, but I have something else not grounding properly and I'm sure it's my metal pickguard. That's a what a metal pick guard will do just interfere with your signal and buzz. I'm replacing it. Yeah the cliff jackS look very cool and original on my old Marshall JMP. You guys are great and I like doing business with you.
These jacks are a must for a classic British amp. They're made in the UK, and are more reliable than any Chinese knockoff.
Great Product! The only ones I use.
The only jack that works every time!
