Burned In for Maximum Stability And Performance

6V6 S is a beam power pentode with octal base and a maximum plate dissipation of 14W. It has fat low end and full mid tones with very good tone separation and a smooth, clean high end. Known to be a very powerful 6V6 due to its robust construction. In general, a very balanced tone. It can be used also in some 6L6 amplifiers.

These are like a cross between a low powered 6L6GB and a JAN Sylvania 6V6GTY. These have the squared off plates similar to the Philips Sylvania military 6V6GTY JAN tubes of the 1960s & 1970s. They sound more like an under-powered 6L6GC to my ears, than they do a 6V6GTA, 6V6GTY, or other 6V6G. JJ does their own thing, and it seems to work. They are not out there lying about duplicating and making exact copies of famous desirable NOS tubes, and I applaud them for that. It is what it is, and if you do not like it, try it in another amp, or find a good technician, engineer and get your amp voiced to work with your tube selections. These can be made to sound quite good in many circuits, with some modifications. They are probably one of the toughest most robust 6V6GTs made today. They still sound a tad too much like a 6L6GB or 6L6GC for me. I started using a glass cutter and a torch to open up dead, or defective tubes and see how they are made. I score the bottles heat them, then plunge them into cold water. The top of the glass comes off easily leaving everything in tact. JJ's power pentodes & tetrodes all seem to share a common cathode design. I am not exactly a huge fan of it either. It works great for some power tubes and not so well for others. Going from genuine Czechoslovakian Teslas to JJs was like going from a BMW to a Yugo. It still gets you from A to B, but it sure ain't the same ride. Yugo actually made some good cars, and JJ makes some good tubes, but you never know how the one you just bought will turn out.

These are really nice sounding tubes. They sound great clean, very 6L6 like and transition smoothly when they break up.

I just installed these in my amp. They did exactly what I hoped for the tone. They really do have a toe in the 6L6 camp. Antique Electronic Supply sent a matched pair as advertised. The meter read them within one tenth. The tubes were packaged very well. Thanks for the great service. I'll definitely order from you again and recommend you.

I'm very pleased with the performance on these JJ 6V6s. They're in a vintage amp with 415V on the plates, and they can handle it no problem. This as compared to another brand of tubes that's supposed to be able to handle that plate voltage, but gave me problems with red-plating. Thanks AES!

These tubes ROCK. In my opinion, and in my vintage Fender Super Champ these are the best 6V6's I've ever had in there since 1983. It's designed for 6V6GTA's, and these tubes are the closest to GTA's in specifications. They beat most of the NOS and new production tubes I've ever had in there and I'm really happy that they sound more like a 6L6GC or 5881 tube. I play loud, and with my amp cranked up most of the time JJ 6V6S really deliver what I want. They can handle the high voltage in old Fenders as well. The first new production 6V6 tube that has survived in there. Really happy with the service and the quality control of AES, and I definitely will order more tubes again. Thank You
