The Nighthawk – together with its Neo sibling, the Tornado Stealth 65 – is the only Jensen speaker fit with a 44mm (1 ¾”) voice coil. We selected this unique voice coil size as it is one of the key factors for a true rock-oriented tonal character. The Nighthawk lends itself greatly to any kind of classic and modern rock including focused, bright cleans, pushed crunch chords and singing lead tones.

Guitarist Description: Warm, smooth and open with strong, throaty note definition complemented by crisp, clear highs.

This is a very cool and underrated speaker that's probably gone under the radar. It has a unique voicing that is quite nice, and does have a somewhat "throaty" aspect to it. It has a really balanced frequency response and doesn't seem to leap forward in any one end of the spectrum. Tight bass, solid mids, smooth highs. This leads to a nice and balanced yet smooth tone that responds really well to all sorts of gain applications. It sounds crisp, clear and open to my ears. That being said, I am mainly using this in high-gain stuff paired with a Jensen Jet - Tornado Stealth 80. Paired with that thing, this is an absolute metal monster! I assure you, this single speaker is far more versatile than that though. Check it out, its a nice one that deserves more attention.

The one word in my opinion that best describes the Nighthawk is smooth. Loaded into a single 12 cabinet and using a Strat. This speaker sounded broken in straight away. Very rounded and deep bass response, silky highs, and a bit relaxed in the mids.
