Product Reviews
I purchased for my Fender Twin Reverb II (1985), the ceramic coating was a bit too thick, it was too tight for the 6L6. I presume it would go in but I be it would be a fight to get the tube back out. I purchased a phenolic set P-ST8-600, they fit perfect.
I like these for replacing octal power tube sockets in vintage Fender amplifiers where the tube heat rises and cooks the sockets over time. Porcelain seems a better material to use in this case.
I purchased these to replace a burned socket on a Fender Twin Reverb reissue. The socket is an exact replacement for the factory original and fits perfectly.
Great product
If you top mount the socket it will not sit flush the folded metal
tags do not recess into the ceramic frame. Otherwise there ok.
Solidly built , and can stand High Temp , High Powered Tubes
Decent quality part. I mount these using a 1 inch knock out punch. Sometimes the pins will fall through, and the solder will flow into the pin, the pin also will sometimes require crimping to make a better connection to my older octal tubes. So solder carefully, control the excess solder, curve in a corner of the pin with a sharp instrument, and life is good with these ceramic octal tube sockets. Pry out the tab that holds the pin in the socket if you see one that is a little to slim. Other than these small issues, I'll keep buying.
Disappointed here, insufficient documentation. The drawing shows the diameter of the ceramic socket but not the hole diameter needed for flush mounting from underneath the chassis. I'd of known this wouldn't work for me.
Originally purchased item P-ST8-209MIP another octal socket for a Fender Bassman repair, but the chassis hole was not big enough (1 1/4") so I ordered item P-ST8-807, which was cheaper and fit the 1" hole in the Fender chassis. Worked great for the Bassman.
