Product Reviews
The ONLY thing this #1 Novus is good for is reducing static cling on nylons, and Delrin type plastics. I used red jeweler's rouge, and base coat clear coat car polish rubbing compounds impregnated into red shop rags, rubbed across plastic on balsa wood sanding blocks. Balsa wood is so soft the edges and corners do NOT dig in and make weird patterns and strange objectionable marks. I took some really deep scratches out of the original pick guard off of a 1930s Slingerland mandolin, and that Bakelite is like a mirror now. A final quick buffing with Novus 1 and it looks nice. I cleaned up a vinyl cover for a control panel, and the Novus 1 kept the dust from leaping up off the counter top and sticking to it. I suppose rubbing it with a dryer sheet might yield the same results, but I trust a microfiber cloth with Novus 1 over a paper dryer sheet not to scratch it again. Some of these plastics are dust magnets.
Novus #1 is worthless and a ripoff, #2 works ok but is way overpriced .#1 should be out of you catalogue. It does nothing to enhance the bakelite!!
