Antique Radio replaced the first one which has cathode short. I blew twi fuses in determining it is not an amp fault! I greatly appreciate their response which included sending me a box of 3AG fuses.
next time I will buy the Mullards specially since the four 12ax7 tubes I bought have better specs on my tester than NOS sixty year old ones I have!!! I also don't know where TAD sources the ones they test and resell!!!!
I Just installed in my VOX AC30CCH. It's working great.
TAD Redbase 5AR4 failed within 4 hrs of use. AVOID.
The TAD 5AR4 is my go-to when I need that type of rectifier. The price is right, and they have been very reliable for me.
Usually testing older used weak tubes. This new one made the tube tester needle go higher than I have seen before - smile away.
Solid, well constructed rectifier. The pins seem a tad (no pun intended) larger than the new production TunSol making it a nice snug fit. Works great so far!
Knock on wood - I've had this beast for 5 years to the day as I write this - no signs of stopping now. Absolutely worth every penny. Fantastic product!
Installed these tubes in my Germino Club 40 along with a TAD GZ34. Phenomenal amp and these tubes are quiet and very musical. Superb cleans and perfect overdriven tones. Paired with a vintage 68 Vibrolux Reverb the two amps present a glorious choir of rock tones.

Solid 5AR4 at a GREAT price..FORGET buying NOS 5AR4 tubes, the prices are just stupid now, and whats the point ? This is a very good copy of the Japanese made, Phillips design 5AR4 that was so common in the 80's. and 90's..Now they are selling for 75 dollar a piece and more . My own favorite 5AR4 is the Russian one, and this is based on hundreds of hours of use..but they cost 10- 20 dollars more too.
Replaced a brand new Ruby with a TAD 5AR4 STR and found it to have a little more beef and vibe. Will definitely use them over other new production 5AR4s.
