The JJ Electronic KT88 is a sonically faithful reproduction of the original tubes with a robust construction encased in a thick glass envelope. The JJ KT88 delivers a powerful 42 Watts with plenty of headroom to spare. This tube has a tone that is warm and lively with a detailed and balance response. The JJ KT88 is an excellent choice for Hi-Fi stereo equipment as well as guitar amplifiers. It can be used in place of 6550 tubes.

Checked these tubes when I first got them on my Orange VT1000 ttester three of them test 9 and one 8 so not a perfect match
I'm glad I bought the Apex Quad Matched JJ KT88 Blue Glass set. I've been using the original Shuguang KT88 tubes that came with my 13 yr old Yaqin MC100B. They have been sounding lethargic the last few years and I've listened to the MC100B less and less. But my wife recently showed interest in vinyls and started buying albums. She also urged me to upgrade to a better turntable. We chose the Rega Planar 2. I finally decided to replace the old Shuguangs. When I first bought the MC100B, I had immediately replaced the original Chinese 12AX7 and 6N8P with JJ 12AX7 and Sylvania 6SN7GTA. The Shuguangs sounded good with the JJ and Sylvania in front. But that was then. With the new Rega turntable, the Shuguangs were too bassy and lacking verve. That all changed for the *best* with the new matched JJ KT88 quad. And that blue glass, they simply make the MC100B that much more eye catching and so cool. Thanks to AES for a great price and quick shipping.

Excellent product with special blue glass which I have collected from the pre WW2 tube manufacturers. I am building a power amplifier using all blue glass tubes as a novelty piece for use in my stereo system center channel source. It will be visually displayed in the system.
