On the second image it shows the wiring of the can style capacitor, on the face of the capacitor, there is a triangle, 1/2 moon and a square. What do they mean?
Asked by Anonymous on December 13th, 2018.
They are visual representations of the different sections in the cap. On the label, it will assign one of these symbols to each section of the cap and the bottom will have that symbol next to its respective lug.

Hello, this capacitor does not have a common terminal do you have one that does? Or am i not reading the label correctly? Please help thanks.

The metal housing acts as a common ground for all four sections of this cap.

I have been using this capacitor for almost a year with great content. It is said that these are manufactured with the same machinery the Mallory used for their cans.
Excellent fit to my ST-70, easy to solder in, looks very authentic and that is the most important, SOUNDS authentic.
I am recommend it!
This is the filter capacitor used in the Dynaco amps, the "showiest" capacitor in the amp i am building. I was happy to find it here, it looks good, just be aware if you are using it in a Dynaco or Sunn clone the wall voltages are slightly higher now than they were in the 60s so it can get pushed pretty close to its 525v rating. Just to be safe i dial down the voltage with a Variac but I have heard some people say it is no problem, while others have found that the modern wall voltage can shorten the capacitor's lifespan somewhat
