Hi can you please tell me the distance between the mounting tabs?
When I say distance I am referring to the flat face of one tab to the flat face of its opposite....for instance the tab at 12 o'clock measured to the tab at 6 o'clock.....hopefully it's 1 inch.
Asked by 66GT on June 24th, 2018.
These are just over an inch at 1.09".

Hi. I'm considering this 40/40/20/20 cap to replace my existing 40/40/20 cap. Since this has one more pole than what I need, should I connect the unused 20uf lead to ground or leave it open?
Asked by Anonymous on June 29th, 2020.
You can leave the unused section disconnected.

I am looking to replace a Seeburg Amp case that is a Mallory 40/450,40/450/20/400,20/400 with this unit and note that the temp rating is only 55C in this one, while original is 85C. How critical is that difference for this type of use?
Asked by Anonymous on January 21st, 2021.
It is advised to get as close as possible to the original temperature rating as the original cap.

Product Reviews
Perfect cap for the first two power nodes of a LAUB model26R (close design to a Magnatone 460). For the last two lower voltage power supply nodes in the LAUB, I used the 475 volt, 40/20/20/10 CE Mfg. cap which allows me to combine or separate the 20 uF and 10uF node for the initial preamp section. After forming these caps using a slow stepped voltage ramp-up process, the amp sounds amazing and now has more voltage protection compared to the original 450 volt multisection capacitors. These caps fit nicely on the LAUB chassis with plenty of clearance. I'll continue to use CE caps in my tube amps.
Absolutely wonderful. I had two remaining problems with my 1955 vintage Fisher console: slight hum on stronger AM/FM stations that got worse the longer you ran the unit and occasional dropout of audio high frequencies through its Jensen 2-way speaker.
Even though the 2 original capacitor cans had normal uf readings, it turns out they were hiding the effects of their age. When I installed these replacements the remaining problems disappeared completely. The audio quality is simply amazing! Pricey item but well worth the money and time.

perfect classic replacement
I Restore and build vintage tube amplifiers and have probably purchased a dozen of these CE caps over the years. The capicitive values are always within the stated tolerance and I've never had a failure yet. If CE keeps making them, I'll keep buying them Thanks. I
The CE Mfg capacitor was needed for my Fisher X-202-B amplifier. The cap fit as expected and is now installed and working in my Fisher amp. Thanks Antique Electronic Supply for having, and stocking the exact replacement part for my Fisher amp. It's still working and providing a wonderful sound for my collection of vinyl records.
Purchased to replace the original filter cap in a Fisher A600 stereo. Perfect fit and a 525 volt rating too
I have used this cap when restoring several old stereo amplifiers. Great choice for an Eico ST-40, some Heathkits, and the Fisher X-100 amps. Size is the same as the original and electrically better. I'll buy more when I need another. Thanks to CE for manufacturing them and AES for stocking them.
Fit , and func. Very good.
