Hello, I am very happy with the orange drop capacitors, and have used them in my antique radios for quite a while now, and I am happy with the results. I hope you will continue to supply these capacitors for years to come, they are the best!

Hi all,
I have a question and hoping someone out there can answer it for me.
I recently purchased some Orange drops from Just Radios and they turned up and were Brown epoxy coated, when queried, I read they ran out of orange epoxy which I figured is a Lie as an orange drop is an orange drop isn't it? always orange? hence there name Orange drop If someone knows some facts about this could you please steer me right. Thanks in advance. Bruclater

Always a toss-up between Orange Drop Poly caps and Mallory 150's.

This time, Orange Drop had the exact value available.

Y'all ALWAYS take good care of me. Speakers, tubes, caps, pots, resistors, name it! I am a dedicated customer for life. Keep up the good work!

Very good sound

I don't like Orange drop caps except for these babies. 715 series is too harsh for my taste, I like the 716 for hi-fi and these are heavenly for guitar amps (though I have them in my own home-made single 45 amp!) They have nice definition and nice warmth. Best for phase inverters in old Fenders or other amps. Great for restoring old Fisher or Scott amps as well. Antique Electronic Supply is the only carrier I know that has these and I'm grateful they do.

I wish I could post pictures of my capacitor analyzer set up. I use a $6000 calibrated LCR that will plot many parameters from ESR, Dissipation, Q, Capacitance, Impedance, at frequencies from 10Hz to 100KHz. After that they go onto a 0-1600 VDC power supply and are checked for leakage. This is usually reserved for filter caps, but I also run coupling caps, for charge and discharge timing, and leakage. I test for current and voltage leakage in line with a variable load. The Spargue PS has a slower charge time, lower Q, higher ESR and a more vintage tone than the 715 or 716 orange drop. I literally have dozens of ice chests filled with new old stock Astron, Ajax, Mullard, Sprague, Aerovox. Mallory, Illini, Chicago Condensor, Sangomo, Paktron, etc. These were all tested and culled. The best of the best batches were plotted so I can attempt to match modern caps to vintage specs. The Sprague PS is not a perfect match to anything vintage, but they work as a superb generalize vintage cap. The 715s do not! I have my choices for what is a match to what. These PS Spragues (now owned by CDE) are great for new builds, and general repairs. I have a place that winds great Astron & Blue Molded style caps for about 6-16 cents each. I only have to buy 6000 at a time, per value. That is a little overkill. Antique Electronics is by far on my top 10 list of favorite local businesses in the valley. Yes, I have friends that order parts from Antique and Antique mails them to off to them, in The United Kingdom, Germany, Georgia (both Georgias), New Jersey, Colorado, Sweden, Russia, and my house in Phoenix too, which is only 30 minutes away. We love having Antique and CE right next door in Tempe! It is something I am super proud to have in my back yard! They have been just great, and this is a great product! - February 9th, 2015

Fits as coupling cap for pre-amp section, especially tone stacks middle and bass of brown, black and silver face Fenders. Be able to compete with expensive caps such as Jupiter or SOZO for the circuit of Brwon face or later. For Tweed amps, I go other one.
