With careful planning and simple tools the Hammond aluminum boxes are easy to make into chassis for such things as amplifier power supplies, per-amplifiers, and moderate sized amplifiers. The covering is ideal for drawing the pattern for the holes that you will cut. Circle cutters prepare tube sockets and large upside-down mounted capacitors. A saber saw can be used to cut rectangular holes. I have used these aluminum boxes for years.
