Compatible octal sockets are included in the product description as well as accessory items area. Any nine pin socket with a 1" diameter should be compatible with this chassis, but which is best is a subjective question that depends on personal taste.

First, I love Antique Electronic Supply and they get 5 Stars from me.. They have been forthright, responsive and worked hard to accommodate me. Unfortunately, the manufacturer of these Chineseium chassis does't care and better quality ones are very difficult to find. These are are poorly finished, and it's a common issue, no matter who you buy from. The supplier just doesn't bother with any finish work before the chrome plating, and it shows in the finished product. The chrome is thin and scratches, ridges, or small gouges all show through. I'd happily pay a few extra dollars for a better job, but I haven't found anyone selling a better chassis. Every other part I've purchased from AES has been of great quality. Just know what your getting with this particular chassis.
