The JJ Electronic EL84 is a solidly built EL84 / 6BQ5 with excellent tonal qualities. JJ’s rugged construction of this tube offers high reliability without any compromise to the sound. This tube has solid lows with warm bright mids and shimmery highs. When saturated the harmonics are rich and dynamic. The JJ EL84 nails the classic sound of this tube. This tube can replace any EL84 or 6BQ5 tube.

I have a 1998 highly modified Fender Blues Junior - Unfinished pine cabinet, Plastic pots replaced with CTS, orange drop tone stack caps moved to tone pots (the old Fender way), added traditional pilot light currently green, beefier Output transformer, vintage 12" greenback. A monster!!! The new JJs sound great!!!

I'm sure they will work fine after some other repairs.
Probably replace the tube socket board and melted trace lines.

JJ tubes are the only tubes I use for my Matchless amp, as those are the tubes my Lightning came voiced with from the factory. I’ve used these for 10+ years with no issues! Never had one fail( I don’t play out to be fair ) and I play at least 4-5 hours a week. I have a collection of NOS and other pre-amp ((12AX7) tubes and none sound better than the JJ tubes my amp came with. Cathode biased amps are hard on power tubes, I change those yearly. The pre-amp JJ tubes have never failed and are still going strong!

Very good sound quality and freq range. Somewhat shorter life and runs hot in our blues Jr and Ampeg Jet amps.
