I'm really happy with my upgrade to the Mullard Reissue EL84 output tubes for my Vox AC15. The low end is tight, round and complex.

I have a Billm modded Blues Junior that I’ve tried a variety of EL84s in over the years, Groove Tubes and JJs for the most part and this time decided to try something new this time. Boy am I glad I did. I have no idea how these Mullard reissues compare to the NOS, but these sound fantastic! The real test will be how long they last. They weigh almost twice as much as JJs so I’m hoping that translates into a longer life. Definitely worth the extra few bucks.

I have an old Peavey Classic 30. Had JJ’s in it for a long time then I started getting a break up when turned up. Time for new tubes. I went with 4 Mullard EL 84’s for power.
And I’m really pleased with them. I feel like I will stay with these a long time.

Im using a pair of these in a Marshall 1954X combo and they are very cool..They have a great overdrive sound.one thing though -they are fairly low output in terms of loudness...they are great for mic recording, and or rehearsing where loud might be problem..They can be compared to the JJ low output EL84 but these sound better.

These are THE tubes for an AC30. I have tried and compared: JJ, Tung Sol, Sovtek, Tube Doctor, and TAD. While JJ, Sovtek, and Tung Sol all have good qualities (TAD just isn't the right tonal fit) putting a set of the Mullards in just instantly gives the amp a special sound. It isn't strictly "better" than a JJ sound (which has loads of shimmer and chime), but I just love it. They put out a vintage vibe that really compliments my AC30's jangle, and makes it just sing.

After trying a couple of others, I ended up liking these best in my Vox AC10C1. Nice sound.

Bought these for my brother as a Christmas present. I've used their EL34s in 8 builds so far and just love em'. So, I bought these without having used them myself, but I've used all the other Mullard reissue tubes and not been disappointed. I'll do a SE EL84 soon and give a valid rewiew then.

These are the best sounding NEW EL84 tubes for guitar amps -especially Marshall, Vox and the Fender "hot rod" series amps. These tubes slide right into a smooth, harmonically rich sounding over drive that slides right Into a screaming saturation at full volume. Ive heard the Russian glass doesn't fit some amps, and that would piss me off but fortunately I haven't encountered that problem.

Swapped out the stock JJ EL84 with the Mullard reissue in my Marshall Class 5 combo. The JJ sounded OK but stayed too clean until about 12 o'clock on the volume and even then the crunch was kind of harsh and buzzy. The Mullard starts getting crunchy around 3 1/2 and just keeps getting better. This little bottle is filled to the brim with that sweet Marshall crunch. If you are less than inspired with your Class 5 this tube will get you about as close as you can get to a Plexi with 5 watts and a single 10"

I really love these tubes. I don't know how close they actually compare to a real 60's Mullard 84 as I've never played the NOS ones to compare them directly. Without being able to compare them directly, I still want to say these come as close to NOS as you can get without paying 6X the price because I simply can't imagine them sounding any better. I put them in a BLC30 non-top boost(exact 1963 AC30 replica) and they literally made the amp sound twice as good as did with the over-bassy JJs that came stock in it. I put them in a 1997 Vox AC30 Top Boost as well. In both amps it really brings out the chiming harmonics that good Voxes are known for. Some of the best power tube break up characteristics I've ever heard with beautiful chime and jangle..very prominent harmonics, very powerful ballsy break up when cranked.
