Yes, many of his other books focus on recording and are not directly related to electronic projects.

There a second book much like this one geared straight for guitarists. It's yellow. It also uses more modern parts that are still available.

Yes this and the Yellow book are good books, and it is NOT HARD TO REDESIGN THESE PCBS OR SIMPLY BUY AN 8 PIN DIP SOCKET FOR WIRE WRAP AND MAKE AN ADAPTER TO USE A 4558/1458 DUAL OP AMP OR THE 5532 OP AMP, OR TLO-72. I have remade ALL of these projects for 5532 chips added extra pads for extra controls, extra clipping diodes, extra tone ranges, envelope filters, etc. Buy the book and work with it. PC Express will let you make a 1 sided board with a few jumper wires or a two sided board that will work with GOOD to GREAT modern op amps. If something has clipping diodes, add extra pads, for Germanium diodes, and LEDs, and add a switch.
