Machine heads without a sealed gear are criticized for not having the same smooth performance, efficiency and durability that sealed gear tuners have. The Gotoh SD series solves these problems by combining "Rock-solid" technology and the post collar or: "Self-Center Guide", found on enclosed gears in the base plate of the gear allowing the post to perfectly align itself with the bushing which attaches the gear to the headstock. Brass saddle version of the EV510T series tremolo bridge featuring Gotoh’s patented stud lock system and FST block. Gotoh 510T Series Tremolos are machined with Chrome Molybdenum Steel knife edges to withstand years of abuse and trouble free use. The tremolo block is designed to allow the strings to contact the saddle without touching the block as it passes through which increases sustain and tuning stability. Studs, anchors, claw with screws, springs, arm, and hex keys for adjustments are all included with this tremolo. Gotoh's original FST feature (PAT.) is located between the saddle and ball end. The large channel keeps the strings from touching the plate. This feature improves the tremoloʼs ability to return to the tuned position after using the tremolo arm.
