Product Reviews
Looks nice, is inexpensive and fits well. Just what I needed for my radio (Sparton 141xx in the picture). 3 out of the 4 came without the set screw. This seems to happen with those knobs as other customers have mentioned. The shop sent me replacement set screws immediately and I received the screws after 2 days, which is an amazing reactivity and efficiency. I commend the customer support for that, we cannot expect better service.
Perfect knobs for my Marshall clone. HOWEVER I've ordered knobs from tubesandmore ten times, and they've been missing set screws three of those times. 70% accuracy isn't very good! I don't know if the problem is with Antique Supply, or their supplier, but QC is slipping somewhere. It's frustraiting.
This review is for the black and gold knobs. I had issues with the silver ones read my other review. These knobs are of decent quality and came unblemished. However, multiple items were missing their set screws. It was a hassle to have to deal with getting replacement set screws but, more importantly I was on a time crunch with a client. I didn’t have time for several of the knobs to not be able to be fastened to the amplifier I had just modded. More hassle than it’s worth. Void all of that, and a slight scuffle with customer service regarding the damaged silver ones and missing several missing set screws they seem to be a good product if you get lucky and everything arrives with all its parts and unscathed. If you’re on a timeline or providing product for a customer and relying on purchasing quality parts with good quality control and unparalleled customer support you might need to look elsewhere? I will certainly give them another try with my business but if I continue to get poor quality control and feel “challenged” about my faulty items, I may need to go elsewhere too?
BUYER BEWARE: This review is for the silver Marshall style knobs (I also ordered gold and black which came with no issues except two of them were missing set screws). Apparently the silver knobs scratch easily. I build and sell modded amplifiers & pedals. My silver knobs arrived scratched and “B stock” at best. I cannot put my name on product that is scratched and damaged which is sold to me as new. When brought up with Wesley in customer service he said it’s just the way they are. I don’t know about you but when I buy a new product I expect it to be new not scratched up & damaged. When I asked if they could possibly look for some that weren’t scratched they told me “NO” that they’re all that way. So, I guess it’s buyer beware on the silver ones. He did note that the Marshall branded version has higher quality control and recommend that option. Worthy of note.
Love the 4 knobs. My only issue was two of them were missing the set screw.. ace hardware has replacement so it wasn’t a big deal. I would like two more though, please mail me back so I can order them.
Very nice replacement knobs; better than I expected
Perfect knobs, excellent design and make. They also look awesome!
Great looking and good quality knobs. I'd wish they'd be direct replacements for the vintage ones I have in my 1970 Marshall though!
Great product. Has the brass insert which makes for a great tight fit with no knob distortion.
I was looking for replacements for a JCM 5xxx series (75 Reverb). I'm very happy that these have a metal shaft so they won't split like the originals do! They fit perfectly, are the same depth and width, and from a distance are a very close match. The color of these is black whereas my originals are a dark brown, and the ridge pattern around the side is a little different. The indicator line is just a hair smaller, but from 12" away they look the same - even the color is certainly "close enough".
